Postgraduate Studies

In the future, I really would like to do postgraduate studies. I would like to do a Magister and a PhD in some forensic psychology's area. Probably i'd have to go out, to another country I mean, because here in Santiago, Chile, there is no specialization in that kind of knowledge. If have to choose, maybe I'd like to study in Spain. There a lot of universities in there that teach forensic psychology profoundly.

On the other hand, another area of my interest is the use of entheogens in psychotherapy. I think there a lot of therapeutic potential in this class of substance, but in Chile there is no development in this field. I don't really know if there is a kind of official studies in a foreign country about this, but I hope the future research contributes in this knowledge. Maybe because of that, I would like to do a Magister in  clinical psychology in adults (this is available in Chile's University). I think that this area would bring me the tools for make a better job with people, and to complement the new kind of therapy that I would like to practice.

If I have lucky, really good organization, and (don't forget) some money, I'll combine both knowledge. By now, I'll focus in finish my bachelor degree.

Regards!

My future job

Hello to everyone! Today I am going to talk about my possible future job. I put "possible", because maybe the things could change... I mean, you never know where you can be tomorrow. Well, I would like to earn money being an astronaut... but I'm not going to fantasize about what I could be in another dimension.
Currently, I'm psychology student, so I imagine that in 2 years (if everything goes fines) I'm going to work as a psychologist. Probably it will be a desk work, because I like clinical and juridic psychology, and those kind of jobs are in an office. I really don't like too much that idea, but I think I'll have some extra time to do things that involve movement, such as sports or travels.

I hope I'd can travel a lot, because I like to be moving. Maybe after I get my bachelor degree in my university, I'll going to study in another country. I don't know with clarity about what I'm going to specialize... I suppose I have time to think well my options before that time gets.
About the salary... I don't have many expectations, because the stadistic often says that a psychologist doesn't earn a lot. But I don't want many luxuries in my life, as long as I travel a lot and keep learning I will be happy.

My favorite animal: Seahorses

Hi everyone, today i'm going to writte about seahorses. This is because this animal is my favorite one, and it is really interesting.

Seahorse
Seahorses are called hippocampus too. They swing in a vertical position, which is very different from other fishes. This implies that they are not as good swimmers as other sea creatures, they can even  die of exhaustion in high current waters because of his poor ability to swim. But its large dorsal fin helps them move.

Also, they have a crown called "coral net", which is different among them. Another curious fact is about their eyes: The seahorse's eyes are able to move independently of each other. Besides, the male seahorse is the one who carries the eggs, he has them in his body for 45 days. In other words, males get pregnant. On the other hand, the female lays up to 1500 eggs in the male during mating.

Seahorses have no teeth or stomach, so their digestion process is extremely fast. That's why they spend a lot of time eating. They just swallow their prey as it is, as long as it fits in their snout. Mostly, they eat zooplankton.

The size of seahorses varies greatly between species: they can measure from 18 millimeters in length to 30 centimeters.

They can also change color to blend in with their environment. This is their only defense mechanism against predators. If they fight each other, they usually use their tail.

Well, that was the seahorse and its most curious data...

Hope you liked!

Peaky Blinders serie, Shelby brothers.
Peaky Blinders is an english historical drama serie. It is about a ganster family who live in Birmingham at the 20's. This serie is based on a criminal band called Peaky Blinders on Birmingham. They were Famous because they wore a characteristic attire: Tailor-made jackets, buttoned vests, silk scarves, bell bottoms, leather boots and flat caps with visors, to which they sewed a razor.

Harry "Baby face" Fowles, a member of the gang.
Historians say that The Peaky Blinders expanded their criminal enterprise throughout the twentieth century. His activities included scams, fraud, bribery, contraband, kidnapping, theft and gambling. They were extremely violent.

The English serie shows how Shelby family takes the control of all Birgmingham. The evolution of the history it is really envelope: they start in very different conditions than they end... I'm not going to say so much, because I don't want to spoil and 'cause you have to watch it!

¿What is your favorite serie/movie?

Everything it was beeing amazing, until we got stuck in the Laguna Colorada. We were with heavy backpacks (about 25 kg), and we walked all day surrounding the lagoon to get anywhere to spend the night. I remember it was hard, we were over 4000 meters high walking and walking... We had to spend the night there, it was so cold and windy that a strong wind almost breaks our tent! Fortunately nothing bad happened, and the next morning we continue walking  to the main road to reach Uyuni.

Iceland is a Nordic island country, with a population of 360.390. The capital is Reykjavík. Also, is commonly known as the island of fire and ice, because of its glaciers and its great volcanic activity. Indeed, the glaciers cover more than 10% of the island and the top of Vatnajokull is the largest glacier in Europe.

In the future, i would like to live in there for some time. Iceland obtains good results in many general welfare measures. It has a high performance in employment and remuneration, environmental quality and sense of community, and above average in income and wealth, satisfaction, health status, personal safety, civic engagement, and education and skills. Iceland is a very developed country, and has high standards of quality of life, so it is a very good place to live.
